The LAN Panel displays configuration parameters for the LAN interface (Local Area Network).

Network connectivity for IP-based automation Devices is provided by the LAN.
Remote access to all Devices on the LAN is provided through the Sevio infrastructure.

The LAN supports the connection of one or more cascaded Ethernet switches to expand port capacity and accommodate up to 253 IP Devices.

   DHCP server

Enabling this feature allows the Router to automatically assign IP addresses, netmasks, and Gateways to Devices connected to the LAN. Disabling it requires all LAN-connected Devices to have static IP addresses.

You can set the IP address range for connected Devices.

   IP Address

The LAN IP address is the Router's IP address on the automation network and serves as the Gateway.

The LAN IP address and the WAN Gateway address need to be different for proper DNS functionality.

The IP address must be unique within the automation network.

For remote access, use private IP addresses, not public ones. Avoid the following network ranges:

FromTo
0.0.0.0/80.0.0.00.255.255.255
127.0.0.0/8127.0.0.0127.255.255.255
224.0.0.0/4224.0.0.0239.255.255.255
240.0.0.0/4240.0.0.0255.255.255.255
   Internet

This parameter controls internet connectivity for Devices connected to the LAN:

  • Enabled - LAN Devices can access the internet via the installation's configured Gateway (WAN, WLAN or Mobile).
  • Disabled - LAN Devices have no internet connectivity.

When enabling internet access, ensure the installation site's network uses private, not public, IP addresses. Public IP addresses can compromise security by preventing proper isolation between the WAN and LAN.
