Wi-Fi functionality allows for two scenarios:

  • In Client mode the Sevio Router connects directly to a Wi-Fi network at the installation site for internet access. A mobile hotspot on a smartphone can also provide this connection.
  • In Access Point mode, any device with a wireless card can access the Sevio Router's LAN (automation network). For further details, please refer to the Wi-Fi Access Point article.

Sevio Routers equipped with the Wi-Fi interface can be connected to 2.4 GHz Access-Points supporting WPA or WPA2 security protocols with Pre-Shared-Key (authentication key or password for network access). WEP encryption, due to its obsolete and no longer secure nature, is not supported by Sevio Router.

R600 Basic

  Enabled

This button enables and disables the Wi-Fi interface.

  Status

This parameter displays the connection status and, if active, the signal strength.
The button can be used to refresh the signal strength display.

  Mode
Select Wi-Fi Client or Access Point mode.
For further details, please refer to the Wi-Fi Access Point article.
  Country

The Router's regional configuration ensures compliance with Wi-Fi radio frequency regulations.

In Auto mode, the Sevio Router synchronizes its receiving frequency with the connected Access Point.

  Frequency
This parameter indicates the radio channel used for data transmission.
In Auto mode, the Sevio Router matches the Access Point's receiving frequency.
   SSID
The SSID (Service Set Identifier) is the name of the Wi-Fi network that the Sevio Router connects to.
   SSID Hidden
This function hides the SSID on the Router's display.
  WPA
Enter the WPA2 or WPA password to authenticate to the LAN via Wi-Fi.
  DHCP Client
DHCP Client (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol):
  • Enabled - if a DHCP Server is on the installation site's network, the Sevio Router automatically receives the necessary network settings. Click to view the assigned network configuration.
  • Disabled - the network parameters require manual configuration.
  IP Address

  • IP Address: the IPv4 address assigned to the interface, within the network's address range.
  • Prefix.: indicates the length of the network prefix in CIDR notation.
  • Netmask: this parameter verifies the IP address and prefix length.

Ensure the WAN IP address (whether set manually or obtained from DHCP) differs from the IP address of any Device on your automation network.

   Gateway
The default Gateway's IP address identifies the Router that directs traffic from the local network to external networks, including the internet.
The Gateway is essential for communication between Devices on the local network and Devices on other networks.
   DNS
The Domain Name System (DNS) converts domain names into IP addresses, enabling the Router to connect to the Sevio infrastructure and ensuring the proper operation of internal services.
